Public Art & Murals

Since 2018, I have been commissioned to create a series of award-winning large-scale murals and public artworks for civic spaces, educational environments and commercial clients.

Some of my designs have been selected through Gibraltar Cultural Services’ public art competitions, and in 2021 I was honoured to receive a Gibraltar Cultural Award for Best Education Project in recognition of the educational impact of my mural work.

Each project explores themes of biodiversity, environmental awareness, community and our relationship with the spaces we share, transforming walls into engaging visual experiences that encourage people to connect with the natural world.

Below you’ll find the story behind each project, together with photographs documenting the creative process and the finished artworks.

Dunas tarifa luxury beach resort

  • Client: Dunas Tarifa Luxury Beach Resort
  • Location: Tarifa, Spain
  • Completed: 2024
  • Theme: Connecting People with Nature

In 2024, I was commissioned by Dunas Tarifa Luxury Beach Resort in southern Spain to create a series of murals that would enhance the hotel’s natural surroundings and reflect its commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness.

Inspired by the landscapes and wildlife of the region, the murals weave together lush vegetation, coastal scenes and native wildlife to create an immersive environment that encourages guests to slow down, connect with nature and appreciate the beauty of the spaces around them.

Rather than decorating individual walls, the project was designed to transform different areas of the hotel into a cohesive visual journey, celebrating biodiversity while complementing the peaceful atmosphere of this unique eco-friendly destination.

eurocity passageway murals

  • Client: Eurocity Ltd
  • Location: Passageway between Eurotowers and Eurocity, Gibraltar
  • Completed: 2024

Commissioned by EuroCity Ltd in 2024, this series of three large-scale murals celebrates the rich marine biodiversity found in the waters surrounding Gibraltar.

Featuring species including sea turtles, octopus, dolphins and coral habitats, the murals aim to inspire appreciation for our marine environment while highlighting the importance of protecting these fragile ecosystems.

Touch The Earth Gently For All Is Connected

  • Client: HM Government of Gibraltar, for the Department of Education façade
  • Location: Queensway, Gibraltar

Make A Wish

The idea behind this mural is that we are all connected.

I wanted to create a ‘trompe l’oeil’ effect, as though we have knocked down the wall of this building, revealing a garden paradise.

Mother Nature, made up of nature’s elements, is blessing the Earth with her touch… the Earth is more than just a home: it is a living system and we are part of it.

The message behind this mural is that we need to look after our planet because every action carries a consequence. We are the caretakers of our planet and it is our responsibility to look after it. Otherwise our children, and subsequent generations, will suffer serious consequences. There is still time to make significant changes and prevent further damaging climate decline.

  • Client: HM Government of Gibraltar, for the Chatham Counterguard Tunnels
  • Location: Chatham Counterguard, Gibraltar
  • Completed: 2018
  • Theme: Environmental awareness

Gone are the wide open spaces of Gibraltar lately; the heritage buildings struggle in an imposing landscape of modern contemporary architecture, regarded so often as eyesores. Construction is never-ending.

The pollution we are exposed to is so extreme here; if only there were more green spaces to clean our air.

In this mural you leave behind the hustle and bustle of the congested areas of Gibraltar, represented in black and white, and then step into a pedestrian area, protected from traffic pollution. This is represented in colour.

The child is blowing the dandelion into the air transforming the mural into colour. Too often we see people so engrossed in their mobile phones as they walk that they forget to observe the beauty around them. I invite the passer-by to stop and contemplate… make a wish!
