In the summer of 2021, I embarked on a wonderful and fulfilling journey teaching art to children aged 7 to 15. As a professional artist and art tutor, it has been incredibly rewarding to share my passion for creativity with young people and watch their confidence and artistic abilities grow.
My background includes training as a Support Youth Worker in 2017, so combining my love of working with children and my passion for art feels like a natural fit. Teaching had always been something I considered, but my career as a graphic designer took centre stage. Looking back, it feels as though everything has come together at exactly the right time.
Mental wellbeing is also something that is very important to me. Art can be a powerful tool for self-expression, confidence building, relaxation and emotional wellbeing. Wherever appropriate, I incorporate creative activities and techniques that encourage children to express themselves, explore their ideas and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of making art.
My classes are designed to be welcoming, supportive and fun. Children are encouraged to experiment, develop their own creative style and learn a wide range of artistic techniques in a relaxed environment. Whether they are complete beginners or already passionate about art, all abilities are welcome.
I hold Safeguarding and First Aid qualifications, providing parents with additional peace of mind.
